Let the Shopping Begin!

I have been DYING to buy something baby-related ever since we found out we were pregnant, but I knew better than to jinx it. Even this week after hitting 12 weeks and announcing it to the world I have still been hesitant. Of course I had my eye on a few things, but I just wasn't ready to commit quite yet.

However, upon waking to the news that Betsey Johnson, LLC filed for bankruptcy my hormones (and judgment) went completely haywire. I immediately googled all the amazing BJ stuff I had passed up buying before, and I burst into tears at the thought that this might be my last chance!! Through some connecting of the dots I reasoned that that diaper bag I had been following on eBay (nothing to do with Betsey Johnson) might also stopped being produced and would never be mine either. Somehow it all made sense..and I ended up purchasing my first piece of baby gear! I couldn't be more excited!!! Here she is! EEEK!!

I think a diaper bag is a good first purchase. It doesn't have to be gender-specific like nearly everything else I am holding off on. Speaking of...I can't wait another minute to find out whether this is going to be a girl or boy!! I am hoping we can convince our doctor to look at 17 weeks which is just over a month. In the meantime I have got to start thinking of other non gender-specific purchases I can begin considering. Now that I've started I don't think I will be able to stop myself!

12 Weeks...We Made It!

We have officially made it to 12 weeks, and we couldn't be happier!! I finally got that appointment I had been hoping for where they looked at me and said "everything looks perfect!" The baby was growing right on track, still two days ahead, and the hematoma has completely resolved much earlier than they expected. Here is the little peanut.

We know any number of things could still happen, but we are finally going to breathe a bit easier and get excited! We can't just spend the whole pregnancy worrying...at some point we HAVE to assume things are going to work out and just go with it. Today is that day!

10 Weeks

Just another quick update. I am trying not to say too much yet because we are still just really guarded about the whole thing. We had an appointment on Monday, and things are still looking on track. The hematoma is still there but has gotten a bit smaller..so at least things are moving in the right direction! Here is the little one.

We have another appointment at 12 weeks, and assuming things go well at that point I think we will be able to breathe a little bit. For now we are just being cautious and taking things day by day. I have been released from full bed rest and house arrest and have been able to get out and do a few things which has made the waiting slightly easier. I am hoping the next 12 days fly!
